Levantine Moon Copper Tray - Large
The Fig Tree X Rana Zaher
Hand-tinned copper · Engraved by hand · Limited series
For its first in-house collaboration, The Fig Tree presents a limited series of handcrafted copper trays, imagined by founder Rana Balsan and illustrated by Rana Zaher, a Beirut- and Berlin-based designer and archaeologist. This collection reinterprets the traditional Levantine serving tray through a contemporary lens — blending craft, storytelling, and symbolism.
Each tray is hand-formed by master coppersmiths in Northern Lebanon, then tinned and engraved by hand with Zaher’s intricate illustrations. Her drawings evoke myth, memory, and nature: pomegranates echo the phases of the moon, olive branches spill from delicately rendered baskets. These motifs, deeply rooted in Levantine culture, invite quiet reflection and joyful ritual.
A seamless blend of heritage and imagination, these trays are equally suited for serving, gifting, or display — objects of utility, poetry, and presence.
