Dana Barchini

Dana Barchini is a Lebanese ceramist and a second-generation glaze master, carrying forward a legacy of artistry passed down from her father. With an intimate understanding of glazing, she has transformed the practice into a poetic exploration of color, texture, and alchemy. She breathes new life into time-honored forms—layer upon layer of glaze, each firing revealing an uncharted universe of hues, as if she were painting with fire itself. No two pieces are ever the same—each one a singular, living testament to the unpredictable magic of the kiln.

Working primarily with earthenware, each piece is glazed in its entirety and fired on a three-point kiln stilt, a treasured tool crafted by her grandfather—an object that quietly bridges past and present. From childhood, she absorbed the secrets of glazing, always eager to experiment and push the medium beyond expectation.

For Dana, glazing is more than a technique; it is an ongoing journey of discovery. With each firing, colors merge and bloom unpredictably, like galaxies unfolding.
